“AFTER” YOU HAVE SUFFERED A WHILE
By Margaret Morenike Doherty-Aka
1st Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
Friends, the above-referenced bible passage states “AFTER” you have suffered a while the God of all grace WILL MAKE YOU PERFECT, ESTABLISHED, STRENGTHENED, AND SETTLED. But beloved, all those goodies are promised only “AFTER” you have suffered a while (not “before”). It is the God of all grace that determines when a person has suffered a while. There is a fire to be passed, a Jordan to be crossed, a mountain to be leveled, valleys to be exalted. There is a time of purification. There is a “furnace of affliction”. You cannot have testimony without a test. The good news is that there is a GREAT calm to every great storm.
God is the God of times and seasons. There is the season when it appears as though great things are happening for everyone else but you. YOUR OWN TIME OF CELEBRATION WILL COME IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS! The bible says that “WHATSOVEVER” God does is forever. When you allow God to do it, it will be marvelous in the sight of everyone!
Hannah suffered in the hands of Penninah. Joseph suffered the pit. The lame man at the gate called “Beautiful” suffered. The man at the pool of Bethesda suffered for thirty-eight years! The woman with the issue of blood suffered many things in the hands of doctors and others. Daniel suffered being thrown in the lion’s den for a just cause and so did Shadrach, Messach, and Abednego. The disciples in the bible suffered many persecutions. Paul and Silas as well as Peter suffered being wrongfully thrown in prison. The colt that was tied where three ways met suffered humiliation. God is not a respecter of persons because even our Lord Jesus suffered humiliation and died on the cross. My point is that the bible says “AFTER” you have suffered a while (not “before”), the God of all grace will make you perfect, stablished, settled.
I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that God will establish you in your business, career, etc. He (God) will settle you, strengthen you and perfect “ALL” that concerns you in the mighty name of Jesus! Remain blessed in Jesus’ mighty name!
