EXCEPT THE LORD BUILDS A HOUSE…

Psalm 127:1 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

Beloved, if the Almighty does not build a house all human efforts become futile. It is one thing to lay the foundation of a house and another thing entirely to finish it. It is one thing to build a house and another to be alive to finish it or live in it. I know of several people who built houses only to be killed in accidents before it was dedicated! YOU WILL NOT BUILD FOR ANOTHER TO INHABIT! There is nothing you achieve in life except with the support of God. EVERYTHING depends on God.

Doctors are an extension of God’s hands but except the Lord heals the doctors try in vain. In Mark 5:25-34 the woman with the issue of blood went from one doctor who would refer her to the next but all to no avail! In fact, instead of getting better she became worse until she came to the one who does not make referrals. WHATEVER DOCTORS HAVE SAID CONCERNING YOU, GOD WILL SURPRISE YOU TODAY!

Except the Lord delivers all human efforts to set a person free is in vain. The bible tells us we shall know the truth and that the truth shall make us free (John8:32). The bible also tells us that if the Son shall make us free we are free indeed (John 8:36). In Mark 5:1-15 people had tried in vain to help the man possessed with a legion of demons until he met the Great Deliverer. Jesus Christ controls every force in the earth, underneath the earth, in the heavens, and in the seas. The bible tells us that at the mention of the name of Jesus EVERY knee shall bow and EVERY tongue shall confess He is Lord. EVERY DEMON TROUBLING YOU IS HEREBY DISMISSED!!!

Except the Lord prospers a man will just wok and work with nothing to show for it. But glory be to God because He said he has come that we may have life and have it more abundantly. In Luke 5:1-7 Peter, an experienced fisherman, had toiled ALL NIGHT but had met with failure. Beloved, he was not lazy because lazy people do not toil ALL NIGHT. But when the Almighty stepped in there was a turnaround for the best. Beloved, he cast just one net and caught a net-breaking harvest! Unless the Lord helps you, your best effort will be futile.

Except the Lord makes fruitful NO ONE can help the barren. In Genesis 30:1-2 Rachel told Jacob, her husband, to give her children or she would die! Jacob asked her if he was God:

Genesis 30:1-2 And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die. And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?

Except the Lord promotes, promotion will not come regardless of how many people you know.

Psalm 75:6-7 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

There are times we desire to attain a certain level and when we finally force our way there we wished we hadn’t because things get too hot to handle. But beloved, when your promotion is from God you’ll get to that level and discover that indeed the blessings of the Lord makes rich AND ADDED NO SORROW!

1 Samuel 2:7-8 The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’s, and he hath set the world upon them.

Beloved, the Almighty rules in the affairs of men. If He decides to promote you, it’ll be FOREVER. You will be the head and not the tail; above only and never beneath if indeed your promotion is of God. If, on the other hand, it is “MAN” lifting you up, there is a limit to how high he can lift you but the hand of God is everlasting! TODAY, YOU MAY NOT BE KNOWN BUT BEFORE YOU DIE HEADS OF STATES WILL SEEK YOUR COUNSEL!!!

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Except the Lord cleanses you from your sin and saves you, all human efforts will be in vain. Beloved, NO ONE comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ. If you’ve not yet accepted Him as your Lord and personal savior and would like to do so or if you know you are still living in sin and would like to be free from the burden of sin say the following prayer:

“Father God Almighty, have mercy on me, save my soul, give me a brand new beginning. I want to do your will. Lord Jesus, come into my life and make me whole. Let your blood cleanse me from my sins. Write my name in that precious Book of Life”
