FLEE FROM ALL APPEARANCES OF EVIL

Friends, there is a way that seems right unto men but at the end of it is destruction. We are to flee from all appearances of evil. If it looks like it could be interpreted as sin, we should “flee” from it just as Joseph left his garment and “fled” from the advances of Portiphar’s wife.

We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses and must work out our salvation with fear and trembling reverencing and bringing glory to our God. We must resist sin unto blood and stop rationalizing it. Many have an explanation for everything.

Abraham’s nephew (Lot) pitched his tent on the outskirts of Sodom and Gomorrah. But before long he was living inside Sodom and Gomorrah! Certain things may entice us and we may rationalize it by saying whatever it is we say to make our conscience feel good. Even Paul said he sometimes found himself doing the things he didn’t want to do. Friends, the Holy Spirit helps our infirmities and weaknesses and “guides” us into all truths. Ask for a fresh filling on this glorious day that the Lord has made.

Friends, as I minister to you, I minister to myself also. You may have pitched your tent at the outskirts of Sodom and Gomorrah; my word for you today is “FLEE”!!! Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin (1 John 5:18). Casting down imaginations and every high thing which exalted itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that as many as have taken a detour from the narrow path of God, they will return to their first love – the Shepherd and Bishop of their souls. The right hand of God does valiantly. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that God will uphold you with the right hand of his righteousness and that at the end of it all God will say concerning you “Well done, good and FAITHFUL servant”. Remain blessed in Jesus’ mighty name!
