LAY ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT!

LAY ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT!

By Margaret Morenike Doherty-Aka

Hebrews 12:1 – Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Happy Thought-Provoking Thursday!!! Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS (Phil. 4:8)!!! When Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac to God, he left his servants and took only what he needed. He took the wood and the sacrifice (Isaac). He did not take any extra baggage. When we come to worship God, we must lay aside every baggage. We must lay them at the feet of Jesus and worship him in spirit and in truth because God is seeking such to worship. On this glorious day that the Lord has made, I receive for you the grace to lay aside EVERY weight and the sin that so easily besets in the mighty name of Jesus! May you patiently run this Christian race in Jesus’ mighty name!

Friends, as soon as Jesus sent for him (after he cried out for healing), Bartemeus CASTED AWAY his garment, rose up and came to Jesus! His garment must have been some type of hindrance that prevented him from getting to Jesus as fast as he wanted to. He therefore threw it away, rose and came to Jesus! Guess what, friends??? You also have been “called” by the King of kings in one way, shape, or form!!! MASTER JESUS HAS NEED OF YOU IN HIS KINGDOM. The harvest is truly plenteous but the laborers are few. We have been called into the ministry of intercession (1 Tim. 2:1). We have been called into the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18). We have been called to be witnesses to God through the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8). Friends, WE NEED TO CAST AWAY EVERY HINDRANCE AND LAY ASIDE THE SIN THAT SO EASILY BESETS US! Let us make the decision TODAY to cast away anything that hinders us from being all that we can be for the Almighty.

Genesis 41:14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.

When Pharaoh sent for him while he was in the dungeon, Joseph shaved himself and changed his raiment and came in unto Pharaoh. My beloved brethren, you also have been sent for by the King of Kings! He says “Come, let us reason together, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow. Though they be as crimson, they shall be as wool”. Let us therefore “shave” away every malice, resentment, anger, hate, hurt, etc and let us have a change of raiment.

Joel 2:13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

Beloved, man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart. Therefore let us rend our hearts and not our garments. Let us put on our beautiful garments. God is the Diadem of beauty. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that you will lay aside everything that hinders you from being all that you can be for Jesus. I pray that you will cast away your idols. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that you shall be named the priests of God, men shall call you ministers of God, you shall eat the riches of the Gentiles (Isaiah 61:6). You shall be called the Holy people – the redeemed of the Lord (Isaiah 62:12) in Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Remain blessed in Jesus’ MIGHTY name!
